The Society of Women Writers of Tasmania (SWWT) has launched its 2012 short story competition.
They are looking for 1500-2000 word short stories on any topic. Entries must include the word ‘Tasmania’ somewhere in the story. Submissions are open to all writers within Australia.
Winners will be presented with cash prizes:
- First Prize: $250 plus trophy
- Second Prize: $100
- Third Prize: $50
- High Commended Entries: Certificates
The entry fee is $5.00 per entry.
The submission deadline is 1 May 2012. Winners will be announced on the SWWT web page on 3 July 2012.

The South Melbourne Commons and the Australian Poetry Centre have teamed up to feature the Café Poet Program at The Commons Food Festival on Sunday, March 4.
In addition to food poetry read by Australian poets, the festival will also offer heirloom tomato tastings, music, kid activities, a sourdough bread workshop, and more!
